Jane Joo Park Senior Consultant Global Philanthropic Ltd (Europe)
Jane Park has joined Global Philanthropic as a Senior Consultant bringing substantial experience including major gift solicitation, foundation and government relations, capital campaign planning, programme development and grant-writing, as well as annual fund. Having fundraised in the US, UK and Germany, primarily in higher education and the performing arts, Jane's international track record is a natural fit for Global Philanthropic's worldwide portfolio.
Jane is currently based in southern Germany. She has advised a private university through the preliminary planning stages of its first ever capital campaign. This has entailed working closely with the university's leadership and staff in conceptualising the campaign's monetary goals, purposes and timeline and making recommendations on how the university can ready itself for a major campaign.
Prior to that, she was at the London School of Economics, from which she also received her Masters in Comparative Politics with honours. As a major gift fundraiser in the £100 million Campaign for LSE, Jane's responsibilities included relationship management and face-to-face solicitation of alumni based in the banking and finance industry and in Germany. This included developing strategies and effective cultivation and stewardship events in close concert with senior-level volunteers. As the main development staff liaison to the LSE's Economics Department, she was responsible for designing and implementing a fundraising plan of institutional strategic significance.
In the US, Jane worked in a variety of positions at the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, leaving as Director of Grants. She was responsible for raising more than $6.5 million during the initial phase of Wolf Trap's $21 million campaign. She also developed new initiatives with her programming colleagues securing several multi-year grants including from American Express, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Pritzker Cousins Foundation. While living in the Washington, DC area, she was asked to serve as a Board member of several non-profit organisations including the Washington Coalition for Comfort Women Issues and Volunteer Fairfax.
As a volunteer, she has acquired hands-on Annual Fund experience. She has been Class and Reunion Co-Chair for Bryn Mawr College where she earned her Bachelors degree as a double major in history and East Asian Studies.
Jane has also spent time studying at University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea and the Goethe Institute in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. Jane is fluent in German and proficient in Korean.
