Nick Jaffer Senior Consultant Global Philanthropic Pty Ltd
Nick Jaffer has been in the alumni relations and fund development industry for 20 years, starting at his alma mater the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada. As a Senior Development Officer, he was part of a successful team that raised $193million in a five-year capital fund raising campaign, at the time the third largest university campaign in Canadian history.
Nick moved to Australia in 2001 to become the Director, Foundation & Alumni Relations at Curtin University of Technology in Perth, and in 2005 joined the University of Sydney as Director of Development. In this role, Nick oversaw a staff of 15 in directing the University-wide fund raising program, including prospect development, major gifts, planned giving, and donor relations. Under his leadership, the team acquired record numbers of donors and raised over $60million in the last two years.
Nick has conducted numerous seminars and workshops and spoken at a host of conferences in North America, Europe and Australia.
Nick joined the Global Philanthropic team in early 2008 as a Senior Consultant. His clients have included schools and universities in Australian and New Zealand, as well as medical research institute, research organisations, and international environmental organisations.
