Hello, I’m Hans Pung, I’m the President of Rand Europe. We’re a policy research organisation and we help our clients and partners and grantors make better decisions through evidence, data and analysis.
Global Philanthropic 0:22
Thank you. And what does digitalisation mean to you, your work and your organisation?
Hans Pung 0:27
So digitisation means a couple of things for us at Rand. I think there’s what are the policy implications of going digital, and we have a big stream of work that looks at that, but we also use digitisation in our daily work. So it’s working through podcasts, it’s putting things up on social media, and really trying to get the story of Rand and the people we’re able to help out into the wider public.
Global Philanthropic 0:50
And building on that, how important do you think digitalisation is within the space of philanthropy?
Hans Pung 0:57
I think digitisation is increasingly important in the philanthropic space. It’s a way to reach people quickly. Different media means that you can reach different audiences in different ways. And I think you can be really creative and tell the story of one’s organisation through the power of digital.
Global Philanthropic 1:18 Thank you. And what is your impression of Global Philanthropic?
Hans Pung 1:23
Global Philanthropic have been real trusted advisors and partners to us around Europe, I think. I’ve found Global Philanthropic to be really thoughtful, they’re real experts in what they do and we’ve really enjoyed working with them over the past two and a half, three years.
Global Philanthropic 1:40
Thank you. That’s really kind. And what is your highlight or your key takeaway of this evening and what you’ve heard from the different speakers tonight?
Hans Pung 1:49
Tonight’s been really wonderful. I particularly enjoyed hearing about how storytelling can make a difference and how digitisation can take that and you can communicate the journey of one’s organisation, one’s passion, and then how that fits into philanthropy and really helping organisations do what they do even more effectively.
